If you forget key, blow away volume and start over (Do not store ON the machine!) encryption key - New users can be added after the fact You can enable users after the drive is encrypted Owner encrypts hard drive, must enable fv2 for each user users have to be added into FV2 or they will be locked out of the drive Setup through Security and privacy, encrypts in background FV2 is full volume encryption (XTS-AES 128 encryption) Turn off legacy file vault, decrypt user's files, then set up file vault 2 In FileVault 2, the entire boot volume is encrypted. In old versions, only home folders were encrypted. MacTracker - 3rd party app lists all info about apple spec database, codename for each computer/osįile Vault 2 - Installation section and privacy/security But, if they help someone, then it is worth checking out!
